The Brookwood High School Marching Band is London-bound for the city’s 2017 New Year’s Day Parade. On Oct. 22, Roger Bramble, who serves as Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London and Representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, formally presented the band with the official invitation at a special event in the school’s stadium. The Broncos band will perform in the 2.2-mile parade-- the largest event of its kind-- with more than 10,000 performers from around the world. The parade attracts a street audience of around 500,000 and a global television audience of tens of millions. The Pride of Mill Creek Marching Band will follow that same route a year later. The Mill Creek High School band had a visit in September from the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Robert Davis, who extended an invitation to march in the 2018 parade.
