A butterfly with a peanut for a body led 2nd grader Anastasia Papzoglo of Camp Creek Elementary School to a once-in-a-lifetime experience last month. Her postcard design won 3rd place in the annual art contest sponsored by the Jimmy Carter NHS Education Program. The theme for this year's postcard competition was "Fluttering Through Plains: Peanuts and Butterflies." The young artist traveled to Plains with her family and her art teacher, Shawn Mazzatta, to receive her award and meet President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter. The awards ceremony was part of the annual Plains Peanut Festival in the former president’s hometown. The contest theme ties into Mrs. Carter's efforts to conserve butterfly habitats in the state.
