Last month, Harmony ES honored the grandparents of its students by welcoming them in for games, pictures, and fun with their grandchildren. Photos of the special event were captured in the photo booth, and visitors and their grandchildren participated in a variety of cross-generational activities. Children interviewed their elders about what life was like when they were younger. Everyone enjoyed playing classic games together, including checkers, chess, and jacks. Math and social studies skills got a workout as the children graphed grandparents' ages and plotted the location of their grandparents' birth on a large map. Not surprisingly, reading books together was a favorite activity.
