Career Connections 2016: Kids connect learning with future careers

On Friday, Oct. 28, busload after busload of students from GCPS' 11 Academy middle schools descended on the Infinite Energy Center for what has become a much-anticipated exploration of future career choices. About 4,800 8th graders from Berkmar MS and Sweetwater MS in the Berkmar Cluster, Jordan MS and Moore MS in the Central Gwinnett Cluster, Richards MS in the Discovery Cluster, Lanier MS in the Lanier Cluster, Lilburn MS and Radloff MS in the Meadowcreek Cluster, Shiloh MS in the Shiloh Cluster, and Grace Snell MS and Snellville MS in the South Gwinnett Cluster participated in the 3rd annual event. The students visited exhibitors— 190 partners from across the career spectrum— for “show and tell” interviews and activities. The exhibitors provided engaging presentations about what they do and what it takes to pursue a successful career in their field.
