Congratulations to Gwinnett’s 138 local school Teachers of the Year (TOTYs) who believe that our students have a world of possibilities ahead and deliver on The Promise of Gwinnett every day! These top-notch educators were selected by their peers to represent their school in the district’s annual TOTY contest. (TOTYs were not selected for The BRIDGE program housed at Northbrook Center or New Life Academy of Excellence.) A panel of former TOTYs and administrators will determine Gwinnett’s 25 semifinalists who will be named later this month. A second panel will review applications of the semifinalists to determine the six finalists, with an announcement set for mid-October. At a banquet on Nov. 9, level winners and the county Teacher of the Year will be announced.
Today, our local TOTYs are “taking over” social media, with our schools sharing kudos and posting photos of their top teachers. So, watch your Facebook and Twitter feeds for school and district posts and tweets as we celebrate our local TOTYs!
