The wintry blast that hit metro Atlanta this month led to Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) using three Digital Learning Days. These days allowed GCPS to continue teaching and learning even though students and staff members could not safely travel to school. As a result, these days will not have to be made up.
However, the three school days missed in September due to Irma-related weather will be made up using the three make-up days that were built into the 2017-18 school calendar. As a result, those designated days— February 23, March 9, and March 23— will now be school days.
In looking at the calendar, parents will want to note that Friday, February 9, will remain a student/teacher holiday. In addition, Monday, February 19, will remain a student holiday/teacher staff development day.
