Gwinnett County has a thriving arts scene in our local schools with a host of award-winning student artists and state and nationally recognized fine arts teachers. As we approach Youth Art Month in March, the district launches the largest student art exhibit in the state… Tapestry 2018.
The rotating exhibit—set for three weeks between Feb. 20 and March 19— will be on display at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center (ISC), located at 437 Old Peachtree Rd. NW in Suwanee. Tapestry visitors will have the opportunity to see colorful and creative work that demonstrates students’ mastery of the AKS curriculum in the arts. Throughout the event, the ISC’s lobby area will be transformed into an art gallery filled with paintings, drawings, three-dimensional art, mixed media, pottery, and jewelry, all created by Gwinnett students.
Below, see the dates, times, and exhibiting schools and clusters for the three exhibit rotations. Tapestry is open to the public during business hours on exhibit days and designated weekend hours (7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sundays).
