This summer, Gwinnett middle schoolers can explore possible careers with summer camps at Grayson High School Technical Education Program and Maxwell High School of Technology. The camps for both schools are scheduled for May 29 to June 1.
Maxwell HS of Technology MS Summer Camp
For the Maxwell camp, students will attend a morning session (8 a.m. to noon) for one of these programs: Automotive Services, Cake Decorating, Collision Repair, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education/Babysitter Bootcamp, Junior Firefighter Camp, Law and Justice, Programming, or Science Camp. (Each program must have a minimum of 10 students to be offered.) The cost for the program is $85 and is non-refundable. The Maxwell camp is designed for students who will be in grades 6-8 next school year. Interested? Register for the Maxwell camp online by May 4. Grayson HS Technical Education Program Summer Career Academy
At Grayson, rising 6th-9th graders can learn about a selected career in a morning (8-11 a.m.) or an afternoon session (Noon-3 p.m.) or attend two sessions in the full-day option (8 a.m.-3 p.m.). The cost for one session is $75 and the full-day option runs $150. Programs include Culinary Arts, Entrepreneurship/Shark Tank, Graphic Design, Music Production, Photography, Sports Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Video Production. Students attending either camp receive a T-shirt. Food service and transportation are not provided for the two summer programs. Campers selecting the full-day option at Grayson should bring their lunch.
