Students are back in the classroom on Thursday, Jan. 3. The second half of the school year and the coming weeks of innovative classroom instruction will help prepare kids for the next grade, for the next level, and for their postsecondary plans of college and career. Keep up with important dates on the school calendar for the rest of the semester and look ahead to the future with the 2019-20 calendar. Don’t forget that Monday, Jan. 21, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday and a day away from school and work for GCPS students and staff.
An important reminder for high school students…
Due to technical issues with the Pearson SchoolNet Platform, the vendor that provides GCPS’ online testing environment, some students were unable to complete their finals for first semester. Affected students who were unable to complete all of their final exams by dismissal time on Dec. 20 will be able to complete these exams when they return to school after the break. Note that schools will not schedule exams on either Jan. 3 or Jan. 4. A January exam schedule will be shared by your local school. Gwinnett County Public Schools will adjust its grade reporting timeline with final grades being posted in January once all final exams are completed. This message was communicated to high school families before the break via SchoolMessenger.
