The public schools belong to the people, and in Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) we are committed to continuing our pursuit of educational excellence for all students. A key to keeping GCPS moving in the right direction has been our “Strategic Priorities for 2010–2020.” It is one document about 10 priority components that cover every aspect of our operations, both academic and operational. This document is not our “strategic plan,” but it captures the characteristics and attributes our stakeholders believe will lead GCPS closer to realizing its vision.
As we work with stakeholders on updating the Strategic Priorities for the next decade, we want to hear your thoughts. As part of GCPS' process to update its Strategic Priorities for the next decade, the school district has launched an online community survey. The survey will be available through Sunday, April 28. Whether you have children in our schools or not, we want to hear from you. Your feedback will help us define our future priorities and shape our district plans.
This survey was designed to test ideas, concepts, and attributes that are already part of our current priorities, or were suggested by participants in recent focus groups. As you complete this survey, please take note that the items included do not represent a complete list of what GCPS considers important for ensuring educational excellence for our students. We simply want to hear from our stakeholders what they consider to be essential attributes that we need to be sure to include in the next version of the Strategic Priorities.
The survey will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. As you complete the survey, you will be asked about your willingness to take part in the district’s second round of focus groups in early May. Please be sure to complete the survey and sign up as a possible participant for a focus group as your input is important to our process. The focus groups will provide additional feedback on the work that will take place to finalize the priorities for 2020-2030.
