For high school students who need to catch up or want to get ahead, GCPS summer classes can be a great way to learn for credit. Students, including rising 9th graders, have three options:
Face-to-face summer classes (June 10–July 2)— Online registration is open through June 3, or students may register in person from 4 to 7 p.m. on June 3 at Norcross HS. Face-to-face classes will be offered at Dacula HS, Norcross HS, and Shiloh HS. Find course offerings and frequently asked questions on the face-to-face summer school website.
Online summer classes (June 10–July 2)— Registration for online classes offered through Gwinnett Online Campus (GOC) is open through June 2. Find online course offerings and frequently asked questions, along with registration information on the GOC website. Note: For students taking PE, a fitness pre-test is required. Students may choose to self-test or attend the optional orientation and on-campus fitness pre-test on June 6 at GOC.
Community Schools— Located at GCPS high schools, many of these programs offer Health and/or Personal Fitness (PE) during the summer.
Rising 9th graders may take Health and/or PE. Both courses are required for graduation. These courses are available at Norcross HS (face-to-face), Gwinnett Online Campus (online), and Community Schools (face-to-face). Note that spots for these classes are limited so register early to ensure a space.
