The countdown to First Day 2019 has begun! Gwinnett County schoolchildren and their families have a few more days to shop for school supplies, decide on back-to-school outfits, and possibly fit in one more family outing or some pool time before the school year begins.
Later this week, schools will host back-to-school events where students can meet their teachers, pick up schedules and locker assignments, confirm their bus stop, pay for school lunches, and learn about clubs and other opportunities. In addition, parents have the opportunity to join the PTA and to learn more about their student’s school. (Check your school’s website for the dates and times of these planned activities.)
And, come Monday, August 5, Gwinnett families will be sending some 180,000 students to school for the first day of the 2019-20 school year!
