If you’re registered to vote, your next opportunity to vote in Gwinnett County is the upcoming Special Election on March 24 when voters make their selection in the Presidential Preference Primary.
On the Georgia Secretary of State’s website, log on to My Voter Page to ensure that your registration status is active, check on mail-in application and ballot status, find polling locations, and more. (Go mobile for election info and registration with the GA Votes app, available for Apple and Android.)
Here are four ways to vote in the Special Election— three in-person options and one by mail:
Advance voting at the county’s election headquarters (located 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200, in Lawrenceville)— March 2-20, seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Advance voting at seven satellite locations around the county— March 9-20, seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Election Day voting— Tuesday, March 24, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at assigned polling locations only
Absentee voting—Applications for an official absentee ballot are accepted and processed until 5 p.m. on the Friday (March 20) prior to the election date. However, waiting that late to apply may limit your ability to receive, vote, and return the ballot. A completed application must be received before an absentee ballot can be issued. To submit the application:
o Scan and email to absentee@gwinnettcounty.com,
o Fax to 678-226-7275 or 678-226-7208, or
o Deliver in-person or by mail to Voter Registrations and Elections Division office at 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200, Lawrenceville.
While registration is closed for the Presidential Preference Primary, potential voters will have at least two more chances to vote in 2020— the General Primary Election on May 19 and the General Election on Nov. 3.
Citizens can register (or make changes to an existing registration) by mail, online, or in many public buildings, including Gwinnett schools and the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center in Suwanee.
