State School Superintendent Richard Woods is seeking public school students in grades 9-12 to serve on his 2020-21 Student Advisory Council. Council members will meet with Superintendent Woods to discuss the impact of state policies in the classroom, along with other issues related to education, and will serve as the Superintendent’s ambassadors to their respective schools. Students must apply by Oct. 1 at 5 p.m. Council members will be announced Oct. 15. The first meeting will be held virtually on Nov. 5, with other meeting dates announced to participants at a later time. Applicants must be enrolled in a Georgia public high school for either virtual or in-person instruction. Any questions should be submitted to students@doe.k12.ga.us.
