During National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 3-7) and on National Teacher Day (May 4), we salute Gwinnett’s caring and concerned teachers who get the job done and keep the focus on our students and their needs!
Last year, our teachers made a quick pivot to digital learning when our schools closed due to pandemic concerns. This year, our teachers have been presented with a range of other issues—from learning new ways to deliver instruction to serving students online and in the classroom in a safe manner—all while keeping in mind the academic, social, and emotional challenges our students face.
Working with families and their teammates at school, teachers have shown that we can do much to support our students when we work together. In fact, together we are GCPSStrong!
We appreciate the many ways that our teachers ensure a positive future for our students and their families, our communities and county, and our state and nation.
This week, please take a moment to let your child’s teachers, past and present, know how they have made a difference in your life and the life of your student! (See the box to the right to learn how to send an eCard or download a Thank You sheet to print at home.) Check out this appreciation message for teachers from CEO/Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks.
How will you “Thank a Teacher” this week?

Send an eCard or handwritten note
Now, more than ever, your thanks, encouragement, and celebration of GCPS staff members is a meaningful way to show how much our community values public education and appreciates those who have helped our students this school year. On the GCPSStrong web page, families can find two ways to send employees a special note of appreciation as we approach the end of the school year:
Say thank you with an eCard! Select one of five designs and complete the eCard submission form.
Send a handwritten note! Download printable thank you sheets.
