Gwinnett test-takers in the Class of 2021 continued to outperform their peers on the ACT, a popular college-admissions exam. Scores were released last week. Gwinnett posted an average composite ACT score of 23.7 out of a possible 36, compared to 22.6 for the state and 20.3 for the nation. In addition to an overall high composite score, the averages for Gwinnett students increased for each of the four skill areas— English, Reading, Mathematics, and Science. Twelve schools saw higher composite scores compared to 2020, with scores for two schools unchanged. GCPS also had strong results on the SAT, reported in September.
