Two Peachtree Ridge HS students— twins Lauren and Steven Seroyer— saw a need in their community and founded a confidential food pantry at their high school to ensure their classmates wouldn’t go hungry out of embarrassment. Their project won a $25,000 grant from United Way which will be used to start a Community Assistance and Resource Effort (CARE) Closet for every GCPS high school. The second CARE Closet will be housed at Central Gwinnett HS with the aid of Publix Super Markets and the donation of hundreds of food items.
