GCPS students who are thinking ahead to college and careers have an opportunity this week to learn about both. Students, especially sophomores and juniors, are invited to learn more about the exciting courses that will be offered through the Grayson HS Technical Education Program in 2018-19.
The program boasts coursework in 11 career pathways, including audio engineering, commercial photography, culinary arts, digital media and design, entrepreneurship, information technology and networking systems, law and justice, music technology, sports medicine, television and video production, and veterinary science.
During the Open House— set for Thursday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m.— students can visit classrooms, meet teachers, speak with current students, and tour the Grayson Technical Building. Participants also can speak to more than 20 college representatives about admissions, financial aid, and Dual Enrollment options. A representative from Wells Fargo will lead an informational session at 5:30 on Financial Planning for College.
Attending the event is recommended for students so they can learn about Grayson’s programs before registration begins in early spring semester, and work with their counselors now to ensure that their schedule will accommodate a Grayson Technical Program. During registration, programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
