Teaching and learning is the core business of Gwinnett County Public Schools, and our students, teachers, and schools are at the center of all that we do as a school system. During National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6-11) and on National Teacher Day (May 7), we salute Gwinnett’s committed and caring teachers for their work paving the way to success for all students!
Each day, our teachers demonstrate the power of public education to make a difference in the lives of our students. Teachers broaden horizons, remove barriers to learning, and spark big dreams. GCPS educators prepare kids for college, careers, and life by teaching the knowledge and skills our students need to know and be able to do as 21st century learners.
GCPS teachers help young people cultivate leadership and teamwork skills, expand the walls of the classroom through innovation, and serve as champions for our students and the rich diversity found in our schools and communities.
We appreciate all of the many ways— large and small— that our teachers ensure a positive future for our students and their families, our communities and county, and our state and nation.
This week, please take a moment to “Thank a Teacher!” and let your teachers, past and present, know how they have made a difference in your life and the life of your student!
How will you “Thank a Teacher” this week?
