GCPS students had the opportunity to participate in a number of weekend events in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day—from participants in the United Ebony Society’s annual parade and program to those who volunteered for service projects at their schools and around the community. Online, find a parade video from Channel 11 and a gallery of parade photos from the Gwinnett Daily Post, along with remarks from Peachtree Ridge HS graduate Lauren Seroyer, who served as the parade’s grand marshall. And, check out this clip from Channel 5 of Duluth HS Senior Anu Ramachandiran speaking at the annual MLK Day Commemorative Service hosted by Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta on Monday. Dr. King was co-pastor of the church until his assassination in 1968.
