Exercise your right to vote!
If you’re a registered Gwinnett County voter, you have an opportunity to weigh in on the future of transit in our community. In today's Special Election, voters will go to the polls to consider expansion of the County’s transit options through a contract with MARTA. Voter approval would also mean the establishment of a one-cent sales tax to pay for the transit improvement and expansion. Election Day voting is open until 7 p.m. this evening (Tues., March 19) at assigned polling locations only. Many polling sites are located at schools so please keep an eye out for our students during school drop off and dismissal. Call the Gwinnett County Office of Elections at (678) 226-7210 with questions, or visit www.gwinnettelections.com.

Be informed before transit referendum vote
Just as public education serves as an engine for economic growth in Gwinnett County, so do traffic and transit have an impact on our families and staff who live and work in the county. This spring, Gwinnett County residents will go to the polls to vote on a contract for the provision of expanded transit services. (If the referendum passes, the county’s transit system and services would expand, funded through a one-cent sales tax for transit.) Interested residents can learn more about the transit contract during open house education sessions planned around the county. Find a summary of the major provisions of the contract and a Referendum Fact Sheet on Gwinnett County Government’s website. The Special Election on the transit contract referendum is scheduled for March 19, with opportunities for advanced and absentee voting for registered Gwinnett voters in the weeks leading up to Election Day.
