Lanier MS garden gets 'bright' start
Last month, a group of 180 Lanier Middle School students rolled up their sleeves to build an outdoor garden using, among other things, recycled containers. During a full day of activity, students built raised garden beds, moved a whole lot of dirt, and placed plants and planted seeds. The supplies for the project were funded by Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) through a Bright Ideas grant to teacher Katerina Flanders.

State's Climate Star survey extended through April 1
Parents have a few extra weeks to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey, which is used to calculate the School Climate Star Rating for their child's school. The survey can be completed by personal computer, smartphone, or tablet, or on a computer at their student's school. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The deadline has been extended to April 1.
