Help shape Georgia's education plan
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) invites parents, educators, students, and community members to help shape the Georgia's education plan under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). A series of feedback meetings are being held across the state this fall. Information about these meetings and materials to prepare for the feedback sessions are available on the GaDOE website. For those unable to attend an in-person meeting, a survey opportunity will be announced soon and posted on the GaDOE website. Feedback also can be emailed to essa@doe.k12.ga.us.
GSMST named national Blue Ribbon School
Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) recently was honored as an "Exemplary High Performing School" as part of the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. “On behalf of the faculty and staff, parents and community partners, and most importantly, our 875 GSMST alumni, we are honored to receive this important designation as a National Blue Ribbon School," says GSMST Principal IV Bray. "We are so excited to represent the quality public education that is available throughout Gwinnett County Public Schools.” This national designation affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and the community in creating a safe and welcoming school where students master challenging content. Deadline nears for CTE resource feedback
The community has an opportunity to review and give feedback on proposed curriculum resources for high school career and technical education courses. The public review of the proposed print and digital resources will be held at the district’s Instructional Support Center through Oct. 6. Look for dates and times for the review on the GCPS website.
