Healthy, nutritious, and tasty food fuels learning
We want to give a shout out to the great folks in our School Nutrition Program who ensure that our students have healthy, nutritious, and tasty food at lunchtime each day (and at breakfast, too)! During the week of Oct. 12, our schools celebrated National School Lunch Week. Today's school lunch includes fruits and vegetables, more whole grains, age-appropriate limits on fat and sodium, and fat-free or low-fat milk. In Gwinnett, local produce also is an important centerpiece for a healthy school lunch, thanks to GCPS' award-wining Farm to School program. Our SNP staff members are caring professionals who safely serve high-quality meals that give our kids the fuel to focus on their learning. Find menus and more on the SNP web page, check out GCPS' nutrition education program, or send a question to GCPS' registered dietician at karen_crawford@gwinnett.k12.ga.us.
